This hands-on workshop will guide participants in presenting an internal case for their organization to apply for grant funding, including the process of researching and applying for grants from private foundations, with some discussion of sources of state and federal funding. Participants will learn how to determine which projects and programs have the best chances for receiving support. The course will focus on how to develop a compelling, realistic and achievable idea, the elements of an effective proposal, what foundations are looking for from nonprofits they fund, and evaluating your project or program. This course is applicable to fundraisers, teachers, nonprofit administrators, and related professionals, and is designed for those raising or wishing to raise funds for nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)3 designation (in hand or in process). Participants are encouraged to come to the workshop prepared with an idea for funding. Please note this course combines the former courses titled “Grantwriting: The Fundamentals” (PDT-Grants-04) and “Grantwriting: Advanced” (PDT-Grants-03).
