Dialogue About Our Deepest Differences: Facilitating Current and Controversial Issues and Discussions in the Classroom and School Community

The New Hampshire Institute for Civics Education and New Hampshire Listens will conduct a professional development workshop – Dialogue About Our Deepest Differences: Facilitating Current and Controversial Issues and Discussions in the Classroom and School Community. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3 p.m., with light breakfast and lunch provided.

Mary Ellen Daneels will offer the keynote talk on "The Opportunity Cost of the Other" and lead a workshop titled “Don't Debate... Deliberate: Engaging Student Voice in Current and Controversial Issues and Discussions.” There will also be a learning exchange led by Bruce Mallory and Michele Holt-Shannon of NH Listens.
