In conjunction with One Book, One Manchester, the Diversity and Inclusive Excellence Committee will be hosting a book club discussion of KooKooland , by Gloria Norris, on Tuesday, October 15th from 12:00 - 1:00pm in Room 302.

All are invited to participate.

Perhaps you have heard some chatter about the One City One Manchester initiative that will be happening here in Manchester this fall.

One City One Manchester is a community wide reading program that attempts to engage the entire community in the reading and discussion of one book.

The committee has selected KooKooLand  by Manchester native and screenwriter Gloria Norris for their 2019 title. The book’s themes of perseverance and the value of education, along with the author’s engaging and humorous writing about growing up here in Manchester under very challenging childhood circumstances, make this both an entertaining read and an important catalyst for community conversations.  It is especially exciting that Ms. Norris has agreed to join us here in Manchester on November 14th to speak about the book and her life in Manchester.

Because this is such an amazing opportunity to engage in discussion on such a broad community level, the Diversity and Inclusive Excellence Book Club will use KooKooLand as its first fall selection.
