Jacqueline Jones Royster, Dean of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at the Georgia Institute of Technology, will deliver the 2017 Holden Lecture titled "An Ecosystem for 21st Century Global Leadership."

Royster holds the Ivan Allen Jr. Dean's Chair in Liberal Arts and Technology and is Professor of English in the School of Literature, Media and Communication. Her research focuses at the intersections of the history of rhetoric, feminist studies and cultural studies with a primary interest in the connections between human and civil rights. She has authored, co-authored, edited or co-edited six book publications and two textbook series. She has numerous articles in rhetorical studies, literacy studies and women's studies and has received several prestigious awards, including, most recently, the Winifred Bryan Horner Award from the Coalition of Women Scholars in the History of Rhetoric and Composition, and being named a Fellow of the Rhetoric Society of America.

The Holden Lecture is supported by the John T. Holden Memorial Fund in the College of Liberal Arts, which was established in 1995 in memory of John Holden, one of the university’s outstanding teachers of political science, who served that department for 25 years, many as chair. The fund is dedicated to bringing signal scholars in the social sciences to UNH.

This lecture is free and open to the public.
