Presidential candidate Mark Sanford will speak at the UNH Carsey School of Public Policy in the Huddleston Hall Ballroom on Monday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. He will discuss the 2020 presidential race and national debt.

Mark Sanford represented South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District from 1995 – 2001 and from 2013 – 2019. In between serving in the U.S. House, he served as the 115th Governor of South Carolina. Prior to working in politics, he built a career in real estate, including founding the Norton and Sanford Real Estate Investment company. During his 12 years in Congress, Sanford served on a variety of committees ranging from Budget and Transportation & Infrastructure to Science and Oversight.

The Primary Series, sponsored by the Carsey School of Public Policy and the Campus Living Association, seeks to build the policy and political problem-solving skills of tomorrow’s leaders, while giving the community the opportunity to engage national figures on a wide range of challenging public policy issues. As part of the primary series, every major 2020 presidential primary candidate has been invited to deliver remarks on a specific policy area of his or her choosing.
