NRESS PhD Program Fall 2018 Environmental Sciences Seminar Series presents
"Navigating the New Arctic", a mini-series within the seminar series.  We welcome the last of four speakers in thie mini-series:

Dr. Darren Ranco, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Coordinator of Native American Research, University of Maine

Developing a Climate Adaptation Baseline for Wabanaki Tribal Nations: Diplomacy, Research Methods and Priorities
In this talk, Dr. Ranco will discuss the climate adaptation priorities identified by the Wabanaki Tribal Nations (Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Micmac, and Maliseet) in Maine based on a series of meetings with tribal and climate experts from 2015-2017. He will also detail best practices for doing climate change and adaptation research, many of which were used in the Tribally-led research used to identify Wabanaki climate adaptation priorities.
