CEPS Free Skate & Hockey Game

 Back by popular demand, the CEPS Hockey Game will take place on Wednesday, November 14th at the Whittemore Center Arena. A free skate will be held at 8 p.m. open to all CEPS students, faculty and staff before the hockey game begining at 8:45 p.m. Skate rentals are available in Hamel Rec Center.

Those interested in playing in the hockey game must wear full equipment and can register here.

Have questions? Stop by the CEE or ME offices in Kingsbury. 

Before the game, take in the seminars presented by faculty from Civil & Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering on "The Science Behind Hockey" in DeMeritt 112.

  • Thermodynamics behind making a good sheet of ice (Prof. Martin Wosnik)
  • Ice as an engineering material (Prof. Eshan Dave)
  • Structural analysis of a hockey stick during a slapshot (Prof. Ray Cook)
  • Special Topic (Prof. Jean Benoit)

  • 5:30-6:45 pm - The Science Behind Hockey, DeMeritt 112. Free pizza will be      available.
  • 8:00-8:30 pm - Free Skate (need skates? Rentals available at the Hamel Center Front Desk)
  • 8:30-8:45 pm - Team Warm Up
  • 8:45-10:00 pm - Game (SIGN UP and full gear required to play)
