Everyday clinical interactions incorporate themes of ethical guidelines and reasoning. Mental health professionals have a responsibility to address dilemmas such as dual relation-ships, clinical boundaries, and confidentiality with a sophisti-cated degree of conceptual, systemic, and psychological skill. Practicing in rural communities highlights unique challenges in all these areas. In this workshop, nuanced ethical decision making informed by the interface of values, daily practice demands, and professional ethical codes will be addressed. Specific clinical examples will be presented using a Positive Ethical Approach that focuses on the development of an ethical decision making system that encompasses the needs of our clients, role parameters, clinical complexity, and our striving for moral, clinical, and professional excellence
