The Music and Culture of Oman: Musical Biodiversity and the Indian Ocean

Dr. Anne Rasmussen will discuss the cultural impact
of music on a geographical region through the music of Oman. Since 1994, Rasmussen has directed the William and Mary
Middle Eastern Music Ensemble, a forum for the study and performance of music
and with musicians from the Middle East and Arab world. The World Affairs Council of America and the Sultan Qaboos
Cultural Center are sponsoring this event.
Events are FREE and open to the public and held at UNH Manchester

surrounding 88 Commercial Street (except spots labeled “student parking”) after
