Individuals experience same situations differently because our social
identities (both privileged and oppressed) shape our individual lived
experiences. Intersectionality can help us better understand ourselves
and others, cultivate compassion and trust, and build relationships
across differences. In this discussion-based session, participants will
explore the concept of intersectionality and interconnectedness of
identity-based oppression(s). Through case studies and group discussion,
participants will explore the application of intersectionality in
teaching, student advising, administration, and workplace for inclusion
and equity excellence.
