Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail History Walk

Meet at the Black Heritage Trail of NH Office: 222 Court St. Portsmouth, NH
This Black History Month, join UNH SHARPP & OCED for an afternoon spent learning more about the Black Heritage Trail in Portsmouth, NH. Together, we will move through the 24 historic sites on the trail to learn more about Black heritage here in New Hampshire. Plan to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress warmly (multiple layers) as this walk will take place exclusively outside. We will plan to stop along the way for hot chocolate/coffee to stay warm! Hand warmers will be provided for all attendees. There is a self-guided audio tour option- so consider bringing your own headphones/phone should you be interested in this modality. This program is open to UNH students, faculty, and staff members.
Transportation options: UNH Transit operates multiple bus lines to downtown Portsmouth for UNH community members. 4A Weekday Schedule & 4B Weekday Schedule. There is also plenty of parking in downtown Portsmouth for those who plan to drive there.
