Doing
Design: a concise collection of current work
This
talk will highlight a variety of scholarly works recently completed by Liese
Zahabi, Assistant Professor of Design in the Art & Art History department.
The works range from a pair of animated music videos (in collaboration with
Kevin Healey, Associate Professor of Communication), a series of handbound
books that examines our relationship with the computer code that makes up
popular interfaces, an invited talk about feminism and game design, a poster
for an invited exhibition at the World’s Fair hosted in Dubai, and a scholarly
paper exploring voice user interfaces as they relate to interaction design.
Liese will also briefly discuss her in-process book project, Beyond the
search engine: navigating online search in the age of big-data, social media,
and hyperbole.

link will be provided to you when you RSVP, which you may do at humanities.center@unh.edu or 603-862-4356.
The Center for
the Humanities hosts First Monday events, which center around short, informal
talks by faculty members, designed to give colleagues a window into their
work. We reserve time at the end for questions and
conversation.
