“How I Brought Peace to the Middle East: A tragicomedy,” performed by Professor David Kaye, is a 55-minute, one-act play that won a Spotlight on the Arts Award (Regional Media Award) for best new play in 2013. Kaye wrote the play after his award as a Fulbright Scholar to Israel. “Kaye tells the story of moving his small family to Israel for six months in 2012 to teach on a Fulbright Scholarship. A self-proclaimed “naive Jew from Vermont,” Kaye had high hopes of settling the turmoil overseas once and for all. This funny and touching one-man show will take the audience along on Kaye’s many misadventures from New England to the Holy Land.

Kaye has performed the piece at the prestigious United Solo Festival in New York City, the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine and at colleges and theatres throughout the U.S. He received international attention when he performed the play in Scotland. Kaye, Fulbright ’12, is Professor & Artistic Director: Power Play Interactive Development, University of New Hampshire, a professional actor and director, he has authored/co-authored other dramas and numerous professional articles.
