Enhancing Therapeutic Relationships

through Equine Facilitated Mental Health

  • Explore fresh perspectives on perception and the ethics of relationship.
  • Enhance your presence through self-awareness.
  • Apply the connections from equine facilitated mental health for various populations.
  • Practice being an influence and catalyst for change for the people you serve.

This course will present an overview of the field of Equine Facilitated Mental Health as well as an opportunity to experience learning from connecting with horses. No prior horse experience is necessary; the horses will be our teachers to help us learn more about ourselves, how we connect with others and how we use our influence to effect outcomes. Through their behavior horses can be a mirror, albeit not exact reflection of our clarity and emotional congruence, where we are presented an opportunity to catch ourselves in the act of being our self. This course will provide information regarding the use of horses in education and therapy as well as the experience to enhance our skills as educators and therapist. This class will be an experiential learning community and is limited to 24 participants.
